1/2 c Slivered pale almonds

1/4 c Sugar

1 c Unsalted butter, malleable

1 lg Egg

1 tb Milk

1 1/2 ts Vanilla remove

1/2 ts Almond remove

2 c Flour

1/4 ts Baking powder

1/4 ts Salt

17 Candied immature cherries

8 1/2 Candied red cherries

Recipe by: Country Living 12/95 In food processor w/ chopping blade, routine almonds as good as 1/4 c. sugarine unti almonds have been finely ground; set aside. Lightly douse 5 baking sheets (or 2 baking sheets + 3 sheets of aluminum foil or vellum paper, to chill wreaths prior to baking). In vast play w/ mixer during med. speed, kick butter & superfluous 1/2 c. sugarine until light & fluffy. Beat in egg, divert & vanilla & almond extracts until good blended. Reduce mixer speed to low; progressively kick in 1 1/2 c. flour, a belligerent almond mixture, baking powder & salt til mixed. Beat in sufficient of superfluous flour until soothing mix forms. Spoon about 1/3 of mix in to vast fritter bag w/ 1/4″ open star tip. Pipe 1/2″ thick frame of mix onto baking sheets to form 2″ hole wreaths, about 1″ apart. Refrigerate upon baking sheets fifteen min. to organisation dough. Cut any immature cherry in to 8 slices. Cut any red cherry in to quarters. Heat oven to 375. Press a red cherry onto any spray & place 2 immature slices upon any side of a red cherry. Bake 8-10 min. – til golden brownish-red upon tip & easily browned upon bottom. Cool utterly upon handle rack. Store in indisputable container. Makes about 5 1/2 doz. cookies. —–
